Animal husbandry at HiPP

What characterises organic animal husbandry?
Rearing and feeding farm animals in a manner that is as species-appropriate as possible are central components of organic farming. The legal requirements are particularly strict: feed must come from organic farms and must not contain any antibiotics, performance enhancers or genetically modified raw materials. Furthermore, appropriate breed selection, plenty of freedom of movement, spacious stables and sufficient light are intended to ensure animal health.
During their on-site inspections, HiPP staff check that all animal welfare requirements stipulated by HiPP are being met.
Organic cattle
HiPP organic cattle and organic calves live on well-maintained organic farms approved by our agricultural management team. In accordance with the EU Organic Regulation and the guidelines of organic associations, they have regular access to open spaces, outdoor areas or pasture. They have plenty of space to roam, as this makes them robust and resilient. This ensures that the organic cattle remain in excellent health.
Of course, the high-quality organic feed also plays a part in this. If the animals have not eaten their fill whilst grazing, they are provided with high-quality, organic feed.
Animal welfare and health are constantly monitored by a vet and fully documented. Animal health is monitored by a vet.
HiPP Organic Poultry
The organic chickens and organic turkeys come from sustainably managed organic poultry farms. As soon as they are big enough, they are allowed to roam freely to take sand baths and scratch around. They are fed high-quality organic feed made from plant-based ingredients. And the turkeys are also allowed to live as nature intended, as their beaks are not trimmed.
Animal welfare and health are, of course, also monitored by a vet for the poultry.
HiPP Βιολογικά Πουλερικά
Τα βιολογικά κοτόπουλα και οι βιολογικές γαλοπούλες προέρχονται από πτηνοτροφεία που λειτουργούν με βιώσιμες οικολογικές μεθόδους. Μόλις μεγαλώσουν αρκετά, απολαμβάνουν ελεύθερη πρόσβαση σε ανοιχτούς χώρους για να κάνουν μπάνιο στην άμμο και να σκαλίζουν το έδαφος. Τρέφονται με υψηλής ποιότητας βιολογικές τροφές φυτικής προέλευσης. Και οι γαλοπούλες επίσης μπορούν να ζουν όπως τους αρέσει, καθώς το ράμφος τους δεν κόβεται.
Η ευημερία και η υγεία των ζώων παρακολουθούνται, φυσικά, και στα πουλερικά από κτηνίατρο.
