The good news is that many children only suffer from a mild form of the condition. For this moderate form, often referred to as ‘sensitive, dry skin’, the so-called "basic therapy" is sufficient. This involves regular skincare with suitable products that supply the skin with valuable nutrients and, above all, moisture.
Many patients with mild neurodermatitis and people with skin that is prone to neurodermatitis don’t usually need skincare products that have been especially developed for their condition (pharmaceutical products). Conventional products usually do the trick. Their tolerability should, however, be dermatologically proven. Ideally, these skincare products should not contain any substances that might trigger allergies. It is best to seek the advice of your dermatologist on this matter.
